The Houses
Three authentic holiday homes nested in the Serra de Sao Mamede natural park, in Alto Alentejo, Portugal.
With scenic outside dining areas, two large infinity pools and fully equipped kitchens, each house offers privacy and comfort in close proximity to cultural heritage destinations of Marvao, Castelo de Vide and the roman ruins of Ammaia.
Casa das Rosas
Hidden between rose bushes, lavender, vines and our favourite abundant Mulberry tree, this cottage is ideal for romantic getaways or solo travellers seeking a quiet place to withdraw and reflect.

Casa das Figueiras
Facing the sunrise, our top terrace overlooks the valley offering views of Spain’s Sierra de Gredos and Portuguese Serra da Estrela. Surrounded by fig trees, jasmine, rosemary and lavender bushes it is the dream place to enjoy a slow breakfast or late afternoon drink.

Casa das Pedras
Isolated from the rest of the property and literally built into the granite, Pedras house has its own private infinity pool and spacious outdoor eating area with views of Marvao Castle and the olive grove.

Who
we are
Born and raised in France, Oriane has lived in Canada, Switzerland, Brazil, Sweden, the US and Lisbon. Since 2021, around the time her daughter Alba was born she moved to Quinta da Saimeira. She is likely to be the person greeting you and communicating with you prior to your arrival. After studying hospitality she diverted into the arts and is now slowly bringing the two together, hosting voice & body sessions and offering Initiation to ceramics for guests and locals at Quinta da Saimeira. There is also a future artist residency project in the pipeline so stay tuned!
Marie, originally from the UK has been living in Portugal since 2010 and has been a multi-talented member of the team since 2023. From helping with Alba to taking care of the swimming pools, making preserves, fruit picking, housekeeping and more… she is one of the pillars of Quinta da Saimeira.
Catarina, born and raised in the Valley has been on the cleaning team from day 1, fighting a never ending battle against the cobwebs!
Our fleet of heroes who have more than once saved the day include: Josse, Rui, Dino, Eng. Carlos and Bemvindo.
Last but not least: we would be lost without Sr Joao, Pirata and Careca, who take care of the goats and sheep who generously graze the land keeping it somewhat under control!
